Sun Dollar is a fantastic local company. I worked closely with Greg Resch, who guided me though the process of installing a solar panel system on the roof of my residence in Carrboro. Greg knows his stuff, and I was impressed by the competence of the entire team. The install process was quick – 2 days – and my wife and I feel that the installation is performing really well. Greg helped us to handle technical issues that arose after the install, related to WiFi monitoring. Sun Dollar is a company that continues to work with you after installation. Greg and Dan also helped us to deal with the Duke Energy rebate situation, where Duke’s website/server was overloaded on the application day. Thanks to Sun Dollar’s persistence, I will be receiving the rebate. I love this company – they are local, hardworking, and smart.

I met with three solar vendors. Sadly, I somehow knew more than one of them when it came to the current laws in place and how long they would be valid and apply to my situation. The second took wild stabs at trying to explain how the government tax credits work – I walked away more confused. The third, Yes Solar Solutions, went through the normal elevator speeches but as they finished their opening statement they didn’t make that “we’ll lets see what we’re gonna put on your roof” transition. The associate stopped and asked how many questions that generated and then proceeded to listen to the questions I had. I wasn’t cut off and I wasn’t given cookie cutter replies. You know those replies that are based on keywords a sales person picks out of your question!

We have a 25 year workmanship warranty and a production guarantee for the first five years. Our products vary in warranty length, but all solar modules have a linear production warranty over 25 years. Standard module defect warranty is 10 years, but as a certified REC panel installer we can extend the warranty to 25 years. We are also a SunPower dealer, and SunPower manufacturer warranty is 25 years. Inverters are standard 10 years for single string, 25 years for micro-inverters.

We love our solar panels! We have wanted to be more self sufficient and after a tornado storm left us without power for 36hr on Feb, we decided it was time. We chose Tayco / Sunpower Bc of the micro inverter on each panel, and the company also allowed us to purchase Tesla powerwalls. We are so happy, and they have been so wonderful to work with. RECOMMEND RECOMMEND RECOMMEND!!!

The Sunpower product itself is backed by a 25-25-25 year warranty. 25 years on the product, 25 years on the energy production (92% after year 25), and 25 years on the labor. Tayco’s personal workmanship warranty is 3 years and covers faults that were a direct result of the work we did while installing your solar energy system.

I waited a while before writing a review on 8MSolar because I wanted to have some experience with living with our system before writing a review. In addition, our powerwall installation was delayed several times due to Tesla delaying the shipment multiple times which was beyond the control of 8MSolar.

Loved working with BTS and super happy I went with them. Installed a 9.125kw system with LG panels and enphase microinverters. They easily beat out the next closest quote and used all the same quality materials. Local company and very responsive – I asked so many questions and they were always very receptive and helpful. Renu Energy Solutions completed our solar panel installation this week. The experience has be great from the start. No matter what phase of the project, the Renu team took the time to answer all of our questions. The initial consultation was with Bill Winker. Not only did Bill answer all of our questions, but he stepped us through all of our options for choosing the right panels for us. Bill did a great job of educating us about going solar. On installation day, Matt lead the installation team and changed the panel layout on the fly to fit our roof. He and the team never missed a beat even with the curveball. Jordan Thomas, last team member onsite, dealt with a minor configuration issue keeping all the panels from showing on the monitoring app. He troubleshot the issue and resolved it quickly. We were well informed each step of the way by Calli Hudgins our project coordinator. Calli stayed on top of everything and kept us updated every step of the journey. I would highly recommend Renu Energy Solutions if you are considering going solar. Great people and couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
