I waited a while before writing a review on 8MSolar because I wanted to have some experience with living with our system before writing a review. In addition, our powerwall installation was delayed several times due to Tesla delaying the shipment multiple times which was beyond the control of 8MSolar.

I met with three solar vendors. Sadly, I somehow knew more than one of them when it came to the current laws in place and how long they would be valid and apply to my situation. The second took wild stabs at trying to explain how the government tax credits work – I walked away more confused. The third, Yes Solar Solutions, went through the normal elevator speeches but as they finished their opening statement they didn’t make that “we’ll lets see what we’re gonna put on your roof” transition. The associate stopped and asked how many questions that generated and then proceeded to listen to the questions I had. I wasn’t cut off and I wasn’t given cookie cutter replies. You know those replies that are based on keywords a sales person picks out of your question!

Warranty

We have a 25 year workmanship warranty and a production guarantee for the first five years. Our products vary in warranty length, but all solar modules have a linear production warranty over 25 years. Standard module defect warranty is 10 years, but as a certified REC panel installer we can extend the warranty to 25 years. We are also a SunPower dealer, and SunPower manufacturer warranty is 25 years. Inverters are standard 10 years for single string, 25 years for micro-inverters.
